Here is our focus:
1. We Begin With The Pain - If the arm does not feel good you will not throw well. You will not maximize velocity, and your control will suffer. You will train less. Arm Health is center of our universe.
2. We Develop a World Class Mindset - Without the right mindset nothing works. Training with the intent to throw hard and move fast is a huge part of the equation.
3. We Objectively Measure Everything - Anything you measure - you can improve! Our system provides a ton of objective feedback instead of subjective feedback.
4. We focus on movement patterns NOT typical positions like "pause at the top" Note - throwing a ball is movement so why the heck do people teach positions?
A huge mistake people think that practicing in static positions counts towards working on mechanics. It's actually ruining mechanics.
5. We don't believe in one mechanical model - We are style nuetral Common sense says you can't teach everyone to throw a like!
6. We believe velocity/command/arm health is one package and should be together.
When the arm is healthy it opens up doors of opportunity for velocity and command.
7. Strength program is very specific to baseball and also to pitchers - Not all strength is good strength for baseball. Offensive linemen don't throw 90mph. A long distance runner won't throw 90mph.
We focus on baseball specific strength.
8. Classroom setting creates competition, motivation, learning, improvement. The greatest piece of training equipment is who you are training with. The competition. While others put their lessons in a buble with private lessons, our guys compete with each other, and work along side each other in the creation of power. No private lesson could possible duplicate the power of our black belt program.
9. Wake Up, Warm Up is unique to anything you have every seen. For many the lack of a world class wake-up, warm up is exactly what is holding them back. Our world class warm up is a staple in our training and crucial for performance. Once again it's common sense.
10. Mobility portion is baseball specific. Nothing like being strong but lacking flexibility. The greatest baseball players and specifically pitchers are loose and free, and have the mobility to create rotational power.
11. Strategy includes teaching and reinforcing Effective Velocity Concepts by Perry Husband
Great pitchers can change speeds without changing speeds.
12. Our environment is a culture of achievement. Improving is a no brainer because our entire Academy is built on a culture of achievement. The key is how much will you improve and how bad do you want it?
13. We Train exclusively inside the ATP/CP System. No poles. No long duration conditioning. We focus on short explosive burst of energy. We train for our sport! Once again baseball specific.
